Some FAQ's I have gotten every time Redline oil comes up.
1. Definately change the oil every 2 years...even with Redline....That is
the best thing that can be done to keep from becoming a customer of
mine...You should see tha drek that is inside some of these trannys...
2. Change the trans oil hot if possible and you will get much more out of
them...cold oil will take extra hours to drain the same amount.
3. You can mix dino and synthetic oils.
4. With bell housing downhill a few degrees you will get an extra pint of
oil out during draining, but it still takes time for it to creep out of
there. Do it hot after driving a 1/2 hr
5. I have seen no diference in filling the trans 15mm below the fill hole or
to the bottom of the fill hole...driven them both ways on purpose...just
fill it somewhere close and they seem fine.
6. Dry fill on a 2wd trans is about 4.5 qts
7. Dry fill on a syncro is more like just less than 6 qts and by removing
the plate on the G/Rev housing with the 6 bolts in it, you can get another
pint or more of oil out. Simply RTV the cover back on with the surfaces dry
& clean...
Hope that helps..holler if any more questions
