The high and low pressure sensors have different switch operation. Low is normally closed, opening with adequate pressure. High is normally open, closing with adequate pressure. If two high pressure sensors were used, response would be as follows" Engine off, oil light off, Engine on, light would be flashing as soon as pressure is made. Engine over 2,200 rpm, Light still flashing.

Assuming the circuit was the same as on jetta/passat et al.
