The 85 and newer have a latch only at the rear of the slider. Earlier models had a front and rear latch and that is why the earlier sliders need a longer handle and are harder to open. I have seen a few 85/86 that had enough wear on the lower prong of the door part of the latch to cause the door to pop open at times. A replacement latch fixed them.
