It will require some fabrication to swap the bumpers but nothing horrible. Remove the bumper on your Carat and the difference will be fairly obvious. The section under the bumper will have two mounts welded to it to support the taller plastic bumper. You will need to replicate this on your '85. Also the body is slightly different where the bumper end caps would have gone, if memory serves me correctly, so you may have to modify it there slightly as well.
