My wife is having problems with her 95 Land Rover. At times in the process of starting the engine the dash lights dim and the engine will not turnover..Stepping on the brake pedal resolves the problem and the dash lights up brightly and the engine starts. At other times the dash does not light up at all and the engine again will not turn over. Eventually turning the key on and off resolves the problem. Sometimes the radio does not work and has to be recoded, the clock changes the time and the door locks do not work in tandem. Most times there is no problem. Needless to say my wife is terrified of being stranded on the highway and I have to be available by phone when she is on the road.. I've checked the battery (+12 to 13 volts), cleaned its negative ground strap at the chassis to the side of the right front wheel and looked at the fuse block for signs of corrosion with no success. Does the membership have any information on how to resolve this problem or knows of a forum that can be of assistance? The Land Rover internet sites are more interested in finding places to explore the four wheel drive capabilities of the vehicle rather than a hands on experience of making any repairs. This message is off topic but I am desperate TIA Alex |
