First, it leaves the relay coil and headlamp switch branches unprotected. Secondly, if a fuse blows in the Stern scheme, both headlights are lost, either high or low. Whenever I did a lighting upgrade, I was fortunate to find a two position relay block with a two pole fuse holder tagged on to it. The relay holder was lurking in my Vanagon junk -- it must have come from an '84 -- and it was made for its new application. George |
