Hi Deb,

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. There are those who would say, "I know how you feel" ... but unless they've BTDT ... they really don't.

I lost my '64 camper to an engine fire that started at 70 mph on the freeway. The metal part of the fuel line pulled out of the fuel pump (hose was in good shape and was firmly attached to the part that pulled out) and, at that speed, a lot of gas got pumped and sprayed in that area before I could pull over and stop. I expended my fire extinguisher and two trucks that stopped wasted theirs, too. I could only wait for the fire department and watch it go up in smoke. That was in (I believe) 1983 and I still miss that old bus.

I sincerely hope you can find a suitable replacement and that you continue on the list.

=================================================

Gypsy burned to the ground at 6:00 this morning her engine caught on fire as I was driving to work, I noticed flames spewing out the back in my side view mirror thought she was a race car for a moment!

Shešs totally gutted, pop top melted, windows broken by the fire department. I was able to salvage most of my search and rescue gear the cabinets protected it. I am thankful that my dogs were not with me, their crate area is right over the engine compartment.

Just thought Išd pass on the loss to people who care...
