I don't know what I'd do without mine. How old are the kids? My 5 year old, riding in a car seat, loves the view from the front or back seats. They make it so much easier to deal kids in car seats too, because if it is raining/snowing, you can get in and close (lock) the door and THEN get everyone into their seats, get the stuffed animals, water, etc. It's the women in the SUV's and sedans that are getting their behinds soaked as they try to wrestle the seatbelt over the car seat while standing there with the door open.

Two weekends ago, I had 5 teenagers, 2 tubas, 3 trombones and some chairs in mine and they LOVED it. It is a Carat so they thought the seating arrangement was neat. Like a limo....

Having vanagons as daily drivers for over 12 years, I've never felt they were unsafe. None of them ever felt "tippy". The only time I came close to flopping one over was when I had rolled backwards up an embankment (that was a 79 though). Stupid move, not the vehicle's fault. I used to have an MG Midget as a daily driver. Now THAT felt unsafe in that on the highway and in city traffic.

Hey All, So now that Iıve got the van all fixed up and have put time and money into it, my wife is telling me that she is concerned that the van is unsafe for our kids to ride in it. Now before I go on I should note that itıs and 83 diesel 1.6 and I have personally checked all seatbelts and seat tracks, etc. to assure her (and me) that itıs safe. Sheıs mainly worried about tipping over. Any thoughts on any studies on this so I can allay her fears?

Dave
