I too have since accepted that any VW "van" owners consider their "van" a "vanagon". After being annoyed by it on e/bay extensively, I have finally accepted it.

At least the Ford Econolines are not being called vanagons.

The split window and bay busses to me are the father and grandfather to the vanagon so I pay my respect and consider them part of the "vanagon" club.

The vanagon name is an interesting one, anybody with some good insight on how vw came up with it? I have heard they put more cash into the R&D of the vanagon than any project up to that date. It was like 10 million dollars before any vans were made?

Doug
