inside handle is the same on all 80-91 vanagons. outside handles are 80-84 specific, and 85-91 specific.

you can use a 85-91 outside slider handle on a 80-84 but its shorter, and the end tip of the handle curves back so close to the door (even touches, in some cases )and can scratch the paint. i had a 85-91 handle mounted on another 84 vanagon i had, i just made a spacer to space it out from the door more..or you can just take a hacksaw and trim off the tip of the handle where it curves in towards the door.
