I came across this e-mailing Weddle Engineering (not a list vendor but...) when I wanted to order adaptor axles etc. No reply no reply no reply... finally I redid the subject: "is anyone home at Weddle?" That got a response. Chris weddle replied to say that they get so much spam that they prefer NOT to use e-mail and don't really do much checking of their in-box, or words to that effect. I think he just casts an eye down the list and see if anything catches it... as mine did.

Looks like some like Weddle don't use filters and are buried under piles of electronic crap; others may use filters which grab all sorts of wanted mail... I had this problem with Eudora, and eventually stopped using filters.

re e-mails without subject... if the sender can't be bothered filling the subject line, why bother opening it? -- Andrew Grebneff Dunedin New Zealand Fossil preparator <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut
