Hi Gang: I finally replaced the broken window regulator in the passenger door today. As suspected, a rivet had come loose, allowing the cable guide to fly off and stop working.

Upon close examination, the attaching rivet is really just a cheap plastic expanding rivet that is molded into a cable stop. I suspect that this part can be salvaged with a bit of work using a screw and nut. The rivet is nowhere near being up to the task of the job it was hired for.

I will try to take photos and post it to my web site soon.

Fresh air at last!
