any sort of lub'ing silicone spray oil (Gunk or Permatex- I bet 3M has some too- brand etc; I used to spray it on a sponge then apply to keep it neater) on the rubber helps keep them from sticking... used to do this when I lived in New England. Never had a car long enough then to know if it was deleterious to the gasket tho... Happy Holidays, miker
