VW did some odd things in the last years, as well as all the previous years I'd say.

I have seen a bunch of 90 Syncros with power everything but without front seat armrests and without the padded dash. It is hard to accept that this was much of a cost savings to them unless they had a bunch of that stuff left in Graz. I suspect it was a case of using up what they had left at the end of production but who knows.
