Alex,

With the relays installed, overloading might be impossible, but there is always the opportunity for an accidental short and, more importantly, who can predict the expertise of anyone reading this list? I guess I spent too much time involved with critical systems, security and the National Electrical Code to leave anything to chance. The truth is that while I had initially planned to fuse the control circuit whenever I did the lighting relay installation, if I had not found that nifty little relay base with the attached fuse holders, the circuit might have gone unfused.

Also, I installed the relays only to prevent another headlight switch from suffering a meltdown; I did not install them for some imagined improvement in lighting. The boost in voltage delivered at the headlights with relays is in the hundredths of volts when compared to the stock lighting system with CLEAN connections.

The best to you during this holiday season, George
