My 84 automatic started clunking pretty good. I took off the drivers side rear half shaft. The wheel side CV had grease but it was dry and pasty. I had two new CV's "in stock" so I thought might as well change the whole CV. But I noticed I couldn't get it onto the shaft. There are two many splines on the new CV. Which buses use the lessor spline and which use the more splines? How long should the drivers side half shaft be? I must have mixed something around. It's easy with 4 Vanagons around here. Thanks. John. |
