OK, if we're gonna be specific, "in their day" means post 30's shortly after
Auto Union was formed. The 30s & 40s was before my time, so my experience
is from then on.
The individual companies up to that time did put out some great (and some
weird [even then]) vehicles. The 100LS or K70 were certainly not "world
class" vehicles by any stretch of the imagination.
