I just voted for 12 photos on Larry's calendar photo site. It was tough. I had about 30 photos on my "short list". So I got to thinking what are/were my priorities for voting. Well, after I voted for my photos ........ I look at the photos and I was drawn to photos that evoked a: "I wish I were there" or a "Boy, where is that, I want to go there" also a "relaxing" feeling. Photos of vans in driveways, did not make the short list. Vans abusing a natural surrounding were not considered. Vans that were being tortured were not considered (too much tension & testosterone in the photo) Was the photo properly exposed? Is/Was the photo artistically interesting (rule of 3rds, for-ground, middle-ground, back-ground, lighting etc). One photo has a beautiful woman leaning against the van....... wrestling with my conscience. Some photos would look nice in various seasons; e.g. snow & autumn colours. I'm a sucker for mountains more than beaches, and I'm more of a desert rats than a jungle (forest) rat, but some photos of sunny beaches would be nice for summer months. In the end, I voted for escapism, I'll look at the calendar and be teleported from my desk to some fantastic campsite, and if that happens to be some wilderness (stealth) campsite with a picture perfect vista, so be it. Thanks Larry for all of your work and I sure hope that you have backed-up all of the photos. Malcolm
