Well if you have blue coolant leaking then I would guess that you dont need to bleed the whole system. If you already bought the pump, might as well put it on. I mean you have to take the pump off to replace the seal so preventative maintanence would suggest a pump replacement. Nothing worse than putting the old pump back on and having it leak 5 month later.

FYI, tighten the belt just enough that it doesnt squeal. This will prolong the life of the pump due to less preloading on the bearing. This is the #1 cause of water pump failure (overtightening the belt).
