How did we identify that it was the starter switch and not the starter? Did she have this problem before with the switch? I'm probably missing the old email thread.

I've replaced the starter on my van a few times and I've replaced the internal strike plate inside the automatic shifter housing. Both were causing no-start problems.

I haven't had problems with the ignition switch yet. If (when?) I do, is it possible to crawl under the van and apply juice to the solenoid directly, bypassing the current going through the ignition switch?
