Here in this state there is no official inspection for safety. But you can round a bend on a road and find every vehicle for about 50 or so being pulled over to the side for papers, lights, hoods and trunks fastened, doors that work, windshields, mirrors, tires, lugs if visible, trailers, roof racks, and almost anything that needs to be properly functioning or fastened for a safe vehicle. Seem to get into one every other year. It is a very thorough inspection but it is done very quickly and they donΉt go probing unless there is something readily visible saying to check it. The bad part is that here in colorado the unsafe vehicle ticket is often a plea bargain on some other traffic offences. My son had 3 unsafe vehicle tickets (bad lighting problem on a jetta that kept looking fixed but wasnΉt) and none were a plea bargain. He got a minor speeding ticket and the prosecutor was going to hit him for maximum fine and points until I finished explaining the history on the vehicle and actually had a couple receipts from the final repair parts in my pocket. He got another unsafe vehicle 2 point minor fine ticket. jimt On 12/31/04 12:39 PM, "kdlewis_wasting_time@access4less.net" <kdlewis_wasting_time@ACCESS4LESS.NET> wrote: > I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to hear my 1960 356 no > longer requires a "safety" inspection.
