As I posted recently, I had my alternator rebuilt to 120 Amps and got a new battery (825 cca). The alternator was shot, and the battery was fairly tired as well. Iım about to put a 17 amp heater in, so I wanted the alternator to be able to deal with the extra load. So Iım back up and running, van starts fine, and the battery light stays on for a second or two and then goes off. When I have all my accessories on(radio, lights, heater on high blower), my vdo reads 14+ when Iım driving but drops down right around 12 when I idle. Is this OK? I donıt even have the heater in yet and I feel like the system is overtaxed. Am I missing something? Dave 83 1.6 diesel |
