Whoa- I may have to *gasp* side with Zeno on this one. You could gut the
cap, add a hose with, say, a tire valve, and there ya go. I have one of
those tire inflators with a gauge built in; don't see any reason why, with
judicious use of the compressor regulator and a deft hand, you couldn't use
your compressor this way to get your 17 pounds, or whatever it was. For that
matter, I suppose you could use a hand pump and have all the fine control
you might want. Hell of a lot less than $100 smackers. I too, covet shiny
new Snap On gizmos and other fancy toys, but I need the money more- I have a
Vanagon.

Somebody mentioned bleeding/burping/purging the system with this method; I
get the gist, but anybody want to explain it in a little more detail?
