yes, Ladies and Germs, it's Frydaye once more!! and that means ... well, this time it means it's the Lost Daye of the Yeer, on most business colanders. one more turn of the giant celestial clock, one more year down the drain, more money to send off to the Tax Man, we're all a little older, and all that sort of stuff.

and it's Traditional for westerners ... and maybe otherners, too ... to gather together in groups large and small at this time of year to console one another with alcohol and express meaningless wishes for happiness, good fortune, and other such drivel in the coming new year year.

and in that spirit, i have rummaged around and around amongst the piles of collectable trivia (euphemistically called junk by several ne'er-do-wells of my acquaintance) and discovered this old song, greatly appropriate to the season ... ;)

Olde Lang Sine curve by Robert Burns-if-you-dont-change-the-fuel-hoses!

Should old Volkswagens be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should old Volkswagens be forgot And days of joy we'd find?

refrain: For old Volkswagens mine, my dear, For old Volkswagens mine, We'll raise a glass and give a cheer For old Volkswagens mine.

We both have traveled many miles, Left home and youth behind, And all those miles were traveled in An old Volkswagen mine.

<refrain>

So here's my hand and here's a beer, Another year resigns, Let's raise a glass and give a cheer To old Volkswagens mine.

<refrain>

Happy New Year, folks. unca joel p.s. anybody want the sing-along mp3 for this, lemme know. it's like 1.5mbytes.
