Can anyone describe the process of rethreading the oil plug at the bottom of the engine? It seems that the previous owner of the van used a gorilla to make oil changes leaving a single thread to bolt up the plug. I feel so stupid about the problem because it took over two years to find out the causeof the leak. I changed the gasket at the oil cooler and was about to dive into the oil pressure gauge at the back of the engine when I decided to check out the threads in the case. Needless to say I was shocked. Can anyone describe the tools needed, their sizes, an insert or increase the size of the hole in the case, what to be careful of, etc. etc. etc.? Please be aware that I am handy but old(75) and close up work is not easy. TIA Alex |
