I have a serious problem with my 91 automatic tranny with 100k miles. Seal is blown and ATF is mixing in transaxle with gear oil. COnsidering the mileage on the tranny, should I rebuild the tranny since its got to come out and apart anyway to fix it? If so, does anyone have any thoughts on GOWESTY'S $1700 rebuilt trannys? Ive talked to some people who say the trannys are easy to rebuild, but some people (including GOWESTY) say they are extremely temperamental and should only be left up to experts like themselves. I want it fixed right and dont want to spend a couple hundred now only to stick a bandaid on it. Any thoughts would be great, and thanks to Roger for all the input already. Much appreciated. Oliver |
