Move to Laughlin, NV and live in a casino. Seriously.
I figured out a month's stay while we were there once- it was less than a
grand, closer to $800 IIRC, a bit more if you want a river view. (You'd
probably wind up changing rooms/hotels now and again, but variety is the
spice of life, right?) Cell phones generally work in the hotels.
Think about it- utilities paid (air conditioning, you'll need it), maid
service, cheap restaurants/food/entertainment all around. A super Wal-mart
and all that other crap across the river in Bullhead City, Kingman's about
forty miles around the back way (cheapest gas for way way around those
parts).
Most of 'em even have covered garages and I'm pretty sure you could get a
Westy in more of them than not (RVC).
I dunno what you'd do for internet access- maybe use your cell at night when
it's 'unmetered'....
If I was single/childless I might seriously consider it.
What made me think of it at the time was an article I read about a woman
from Britain who figured out it was cheaper (and easier) for her to live off
her retirement on a cruise ship than it was for her to maintain a flat
wherever it was she lived. Just changes ships when she gets bored. Beats the
heck out of a being in a home, eh?
Cya,
Robert
