Looks like a nice van, but I think you'll need to put a motor in it to get
that kind of money out of it. Good luck though.
Cheers,
Jeff

Subject: SYNCRO FOR SALE, BAD MOTOR, SEATTLE
Hi all,
I have the perfect Syncro for a Subaru conversion (or a new 2.1 ltr.)
See lots of pics at
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/roadcamp1/my_photos
Details-
1987 Titian Red syncro with factory power windows, mirrors, locks.
Rear wiper, locking diff. WAS A/C but I removed it and replaced the
headliner with a factory non/ac headliner.
Van has completely been repainted, including top and bumpers. (zero
rust and no dents before paint. Only small dings etc)
Windows were taken out of the van before paint. Paint job cost $2500 cash.
UPGRADES-
1. later model windows, rubber trim. Carat full body package including
skirts and fiberglass bumpers.
2. THREE eurovan interior lights (one with slow dim and map light),
Carat fluorescent light
Lots of new grab handles installed, cupholders, storage bins
3. Westfalia rear seat, Westfalia storage bin (next to seat, with
water tank removed)
4. Westfalia front and rear tables, TWO front Westfalia table mounts
on driver AND passenger front seat pedestals.
5. Carat jumpseat mounting brakets have been added with appropriate
factory seat belts
6. RARE Westfalia option fully swiveling captains jair that has a
storage compartment undeneath (see pics)
7. fully soundproofed. Every door and panel.
8. Metal engine lid from a Diesel van (heavy, quiet with factory
soundproofing, and basically fireproof)
9. Grab handles on rear hatch so you can close the van's hatch without
going outside.
10. Gene Berg short shift kit
11. Upgraded VW dual tone horn with relay (out of a Passat)
12. front air dam
I also have brand new jail bars and Audi 15 inch rims on fairly new
tires. Rims would need to be machined but the offset is fine for a
Syncro. Rims, South African steering wheel, and jail bars are not
included in sale but are available if you are interested.
Negatives- this van has been lowered by heating the springs. It
handles great but bottoms out on big bumps. IMHO it needs to be
raised. I have factory used springs off a syncro in a box that I will
include in sale. A few paint chips. Interior is not mint but very
presentable. Rear engine pad is factory non A/C pad but its not blue,
not gray. Viscous Coupler is weak and is failing toward the non
aggressive side (took it to the snow and the front tires didnt want to
spin but they spin on gravel so....)
I know an guy that can install a subaru 2.2 engine in this, turn key,
for about the same price as getting a new 2.1 ltr waterboxer installed
if someone is interested..
I'd like $7500 for it.
