I've been buying molybdenum grease by Valvoline for 10 years and just giving my CVs about 5 strokes or pumps of grease twice a year for 275,000 miles and no CV problems. The picture is of a 3 oz cartridge gun but I've got the same thin brass tube setup on a large cartridge gun with a flexible hose to the brass needle insert. The brass needle just slips in beside the seal at the axle and goes back into the CV joint to put grease right where you need it. You can give your gun a few pumps and determine haw many strokes it'll take to properly lube your joints. Yes CVs do loose grease. Porsche 914/912e use seals on the CVs top stop this.
