Timesert make a nice insert with a lip at the gasket. These make a nice repair the trick is to get the lip just sligthly below the case surface and then the drain bolt does not lock on the insert when tightened they also make a BIGsert when the hole is to large to use the smaller one. Heli coils are common some just use there sparkplug repair set 14 x 1.25 other keep the thread size the same and use 14 x 1.50 the 14 x 1.25 drain bolts are harder to find some refer to them as Jeep drain plugs. . The ones I have found localy have a large gasket flange and that makes it a tight fit in the countersunk hole the vanagons have. I will admit to grinding the flange when need be the self tapping drain bolts are a get home fix
