Hey all thanks for your comments, answers, lectures, and stories. ive got the picture. everything is good in moderation. very thin coat vs 1/4" bead if any. a few beers vs. a case, 1 asprin vs 1 bottle. its all good. sit back in your tighty whities on the front porch and have a cold one. (not a case) i myself would rather turn on the heat and hang out in "the shed" and turn wrenches with my vws on the lift, till the cows came home. nothing is more fun then setting it on 4 wheels and firing it up and cranking down the e-way with another job well done. ive made most of the mistakes in the past on my own with the air cooled stuff and 95% of it crosses over its the 5% water factor that tosses me. if it was american made i would just drive it in the winter and take to any reputable

service cernter to repair and abuse it. my vws are mine and i repair and maintain them myself. this is my hobby. i know for some it is there primary and only

vehicle. ive got 7 and only 2 use water. there garage kept and good weather drivers and rain is not bad weather. this is winter in Michigan so its maintenance time till the spring. i fix all of them and drive them till something is to big for quick fix and then store them till the next winter for repair.

again thanks for the info. even though i pretty much knew the answer i just wanted to bounce it off the list c-ya Jonce

c-ya at the vw shows this year. Lansing Michigan Dune Buggy show is end of Feburary this year and ill be there.
