Jeez Eric, do you have to be so mean all the time? I got censured for having a potty mouth, yet you just keep upchucking this stuff on a daily basis. It's a sad day when hateful speech is considered worse than impure language, IMHO

Keep in mind that list membership encompasses more than the rust belt. Over here on the left coast, we don't produce the rotted out cars you are so used to. Consequently, people are often willing to pay what you may think is a high price for a vehicle that in reality couldn't be duplicated in the new car market for nearly any cost. Combine that with a vanagon-loving region -- there are probably more vanagons in Steve's neighborhood than you've seen in a year -- and you have a demand for a quality used vehicle. Would this fly in Pittsburgh? Probably not, but our housing prices would probably freak you (though not BenT and SF contingent) out, too.

I've seen this van. It's nice. Very nice. I'm in awe that you can get a paint job like that for $2500 (actually, you probably can't -- it takes connections and unfortunately, I don't have any). There's no way you could come close doing it for this price yourself, even if you value your time at a dollar an hour. It may not be worth that much money to everyone who sees the ad, but it only takes one happy buyer to and a satisfied seller to make a great deal...BTW, I have no interest in the sale of this van, but I'm just tired of your negativity.

If we were all only interested in fiscal responsibility, we'd buy a 2-year-old KIA or Hyundai and drive it until the 100k mile warranty ends (or better yet, ride the bus). Instead, we're a sick group of people who get something "more" than basic transportation out of these vans. I'm sure someone, somewhere out there, has a personal definition of "more" that is a van just like this one.

Ease off and try to remember it's a big world. Some people may actually want something different out of life than you.
