Hi there,
  I've been installing headlight relays on my 84 1.9L water-cooled
Vanagon and have noticed some meltdowns in and around the fuse panel
area...

-The first I saw was on one of my OEM relays already in the Van.  Not
sure what it's for but it is the closest one to the front end (firewall?)
of the van.  It is the front-most of 3 relays (I assume all the little
black square units to be 'relays') that are against the body of the van,
there are two more further out and adjacent to the first row.  It's
marked with "Bosch" "0 332 204 150" "12V 20/30A" and is melted on the
back third of the unit.  I'm thinking it should be replaced.  Are these
still available new?

-The other melting was of the plastic 'shielding' of one of my power
wires (red, 10 or 12g) that plugs into the male connector above fuse #8.
The plastic shielding was melted to the wire really well.  I used a small
file to clean the contacts/female connector of the wire but am wondering
do I need to replace the plastic end cover?  Does it serve a purpose?
Are they still available?  It looks like it just slips over the wire but
the p/n is too melted to read and it looks disimilar to the other covers
in there?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
