Regarding the pitted waterpump surface...Using JB is fairly common to make sure this area will seal correctly. I and many other have done it professionally for years with no issues. Smooth on with a very flat blade ( I use a razor blade) and hit it with a flat file after its dry to be sure the area is truly flat. I use W7DTC plugs (the tripple electrode style)...never liked platinums much...but the wr7dp should work... Daryl of AA Transaxle Duvall, WA.
