Rich asked ....Is there any way to get at this switch to replace it without removing the dash board?.... Yes. Remove the cover over the instrument cluster. Pull the connector off of the BRAKE indicator light that is above the light switch. There are tabs on each side of the switch itself to depress. Depress and pull the switch out. Expect a lot of jiggling and maneuvering. You can simplify this a lot, especially getting the switch back in, if you loosen the whole cluster by taking out the four screw, one in each corner, that hold the cluster to the dash. Be careful on this, especially the screw at the right front, very easy to loose.
