He he he....i read all your post....

VW OEM Gasket are shitty! aftermarket are worse...or after all, maybe better! Any VW engine (even the new one's)will leak after it's 3 years old...a Honda on the other end....

So i use """Loctite 518 gasket sealant""" on ALL mating surface + the aftermarket gasket, even on pushrods O-rings!!! Result = NO leak after 60k on my old 87...... the 518 is something out of this world... it never dries up completely... but just enough to STOP any possible leaks.. forever! But, it's expensive and dificult to find.

heads to core: that is another story.... I still have 2 tubes of OEM VW recommended sealant..and it work fine...i will now use a new sealant used on small airplane (am at home and forgot the name!)

I will let you know about this one....on my next engine section....the never completed "Head gasket section"... am doing an engine re-sealing (84 1.9L) this week, i will take many many pictures... so i will finaly put a stop on those head gasket threads....
