Re you praises of atomic energy, I and many others would surely agree with
you if it weren't for
A) the problems of dealing with the spent fuel and other contaminated
materials, where there is still no good solution to the vast nuclear waste
mess we have already created;
B) the dangers of nuclear facilities being damaged by natural causes, human
error or intentional human sabotage, releasing disastrous amounts of
nuclear pollution into the biosphere.
C) the danger of nuclear material being used for weapons both by so-called
civilized as well as so-called rogue nations.
If you have real answers to these significant issues, I'd be on board
immediately. But until then I'll drive my gas guzzling Syncro and live with
the guilt of doing further damage to the atmosphere and our lungs..... And
I'll support other alternative energy developments such as the solar panels
we've already got for our entire household and love!
