Dan I think compared to the amount of these on the road and the average miles most owners are getting this motor is still way more reliable then the 2.1 waterboxer. I also own a SAAB and have heard a mountain of issues with them although I've experienced none. I still feel with most production cars, vans or trucks if you are good them they do the same in return. That's not to say some companies engineer stuff better.
