Subject: Spark Plugs
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

have a VAG workshop bulletin for the DF, DG and SP engines which says that from Aug. 87 spark plugs with a single earth electrode are being installed in

place of the three electrode  plugs, this is in conjunction with a modified ignition coil which has a grey sticker.

The recommended plugs for the green coil:    W7 DTC 14-7 DTU  N7 BYC

grey coil:       W7 DCO 14-7 DU

  N7 YCX

The Primary Resistance for the green coil is 0.8 Ohm and the Secondary 8.5

K-Ohm

and  the Primary Resistane for the grey coil is 0.6 Ohm and the Secondary 6.9

K-Ohm

This may apply to other engines but the bulletin was in the manual for the DG

engine, a carburetted 1.9.
