For sale:  1986 VW Vanagon Syncro with 1991 Subaru 2.2L
motor.  Tacoma/Seattle, WA

$1800

Van runs with engine conversion but needs some finishing touches.  Also
would be a good parts car to go from that tried VW motor to an AWD
powerhouse.  Details are below.   See www.kennedyeng.com or

Body: gray with some small dents/scratches on the both sides.  Minor rust
at bumpers and seam behind forward doors (Mass. car originally).

Interior:  Black and gray.  Front part (driver and passenger area) in
decent shape.  Back half is stripped for built in bed (not installed).  I
have a separate rear seat half installed.  Headliner good, interior panels
alright except sliding door, which is missing.

Drivetrain: 1991 2.2L subie converted using Kennedy Eng. kit.  New water
pump, timing belt, clutch, etc.  Custom skidplate for oil pan and custom
exhaust.  5 speed transmission (VW) with granny-gear.  No differential locks.

What it needs:  Currently the motor runs, but the mixture is significantly
off and therefore probably not drivable.  My guess is the harness needs to
be redone although it could be one of the sensors (multiple codes from
ECU).  The cooling system is also a temporary setup and would need to be
finished properly.  Transmission is noisy, likely the main shaft
bearing.  Because of limited time and my new graduate student salary have
chosen not to put any more effort ($$) into the vehicle.  It would be the
new owner's responsibility to move it from Tacoma, WA.
