I've had a Colgan bra for about two years, and while not a perfect fit, I've made it work. And yes, there are pros and cons. On any trip, it prevents most rock chips as well as the accompanying "WHANG!" of things hitting the front end. The screening over the grilles also keeps bugs out of the radiator or rather the A/C condenser. This can be as valuable as preventing the rock chips. I agree, you need to keep the paint well-waxed underneath the bra. The screening over the upper grill wore the shine off the VW emblem. There is no way I am going to stop and take it off just because it starts raining, but as soon as convenient, I clean it by washing it in place with water and mild soap and a soft brush. Rinse it well, wipe with a chamois and remove it and drape it somewhere to dry. Some debris and bugs always seem to get behind it, so I use a vacuum cleaner and brush to clean off the backside. Mildew has not been a problem, especially here in Arizona. Of course, that could change with all the rain we've been getting :). Jerry
