Yeah, we've fixed a number of subie heads with serious pitting (in fact chunks missing at times), best way is definately TIG, we've had great results. As in the subies, it's a good idea to check with a multimeter to see that your cooling system isn't charged(one probe in the expansion tank, one on the battery neg) as this is a fast way to corrode parts quickly. I've seen a brand new heater core leak in a month of use because the system was going through electrolysis so badly. Never a bad idea to run a few extra grounds to both the block and your heater cores to prevent this.
