I've also seen older RVs witht he 20or30# tanks on the back bumper.. I don't like it that much, Especially HOOKED UP.. well I guess it's all the same if the tank valve is off.. the hose would maybe keep one from bouncing down the highway in event of collision. your primary concern is in the event of a rear end collision.. I'd say it's still fine as long as a 18wheeler doesn't rearend ya.. then you would likely have a differant problem with survival anyways.. ..

heres another bloke done the same thing.. but maybe it's smarter to incoporate it with a H2o jug.. http://jeepin.com/features/ayersbumper/index.asp

I'll likely still prefer to carry a similiar 5# tank back here for wkend trips with my syncro conversion.. I don't really have much qualms in carrying a 20# BBQ bottle to and fro in my passanger car, or van long as they don't roll around.. (a milk crate fixes that issue.). soo I say for all the stuff to worry about in thw world.. it's small potatoes if a handfull of people take it into their hands to carry one off the rear bumper.. those naysayers who would say what about the innocent cars behind ya.. well they can bloody well stay farther behind me to not hit my tank of flammable gas... it'll have a nice warning triangle as the CDL trucks require.. *smiles. Dan ================================================ Subject: propane tank on back There's an interesting way of putting a standard propane tank on the back of a syncro pictured on: http://www.soyouz.ca/syncro/pictures16.htm (it's for sale on Samba).

Is this legal? I vaguely remember seeing this on the back of North American camper vans. I'm installing a propex and was thinking of putting in a second tank. This setup seems more convenient all round. Easier to fill, larger supply, and I was going to have to replumb for the propex anyways. It would fit on a Gary Lee swing out rear rack I was thinking of buying too. Any regulations, thoughts or experiences?
