Stan and fellow vanagon types \ The OEM heads alloy sucked so bad that they would have pitted around the JB weld no kidding and it does conduct electricity Jb weld does have some shrinkage over time but not enough to make a difference. you just cant beat the alloys of the AMC heads and there ability to not crack and resist pitting.. Never have I seen an AMC head that cracked and or leak coolant The idea of putting a OEM head back on a van rebuilt or not is nothing more than an act of foolishness or desperation plan and simple. I use nothing BUT rebuilt AMC heads on my own vans and I use nothing but new AMC heads on my rebuilt engines because that's what works
