I use JB weld to fix pitting on the case (where the head gasket slides
on). Many people focus on the heads and overlook the fact that the case
side pits as well and I believe that for many folks who have heads leak
over and over, this could be one of the causes. Look at your case when
you are doing head work. If the case is pitted repair with JB Weld and
then sand back until smooth the surrounding aluminum. I have had only
ever had one head job come back and it was when I first started and I
didn't check the case for pitting. I learned that lesson.
