Lest I sound unappreciative, I want to acknowledge the helpful comments and support from all members of this list, not just those who have special training or experience. There are a few of you out there who shock me with your knowledge of these machines, how they work, and how to keep them going. There are listmembers who have special expertise in electronics, transmissions, fuel systems, body work, suspension systems, and so on. We all benefit from your knowledge, and I may have benefited more than most in getting Ole Billy Bones seaworthy again.

There are people on the list who have had unique experiences that very often shed light on problems that may seem a mystery to me, but not to them, i.e., they've "been there, done that."

Then there are people out there, like me, who are sort of new but have gotten their hands wet and offer their experiences as well. Sometimes it is just nice that we offer support.

In the end, this list comprises, as far as I know, the most concentrated knowledge-base available on the net or elsewhere when it comes to Vanagons. I have been driving VWs buses for many years, and Vanagons for about 12 years, but I shudder to think what it would be like to try to manage one of these beasts without the help of this list, and that includes every member who ever typed out words of advice or support and sent them along their digital way to find the screen of the listmember anxiously awaiting them on the other end.

So to everyone, and I mean everyone, thank you for being out there and for being a member of this special community.

Warren Lail 88 Westy "Billy Bones"
