Subject: 1985 Vanagon - rear wheel bearing job - greese ? and greese type ?

Ken:

Last couple ?'s : -Do machine shops press said bearing into housing "wet"/greesed? -If so, it's straight to re-install, correct? -If not, how would you get enough greese to that rear-most side of bearing against housing?

-What is your opinion on best "wheel bearing greese" for this application.

-How long should these bearing "typically" last if say you buy stuff from Bus Depot for example.

Thanks

Larry Georgia

PS. I did this job on one side of my van many years ago (but not 10 yrs. ago) and I think maybe I handled this greesing issue wrong and got a premature bearing life.
