Dig around online. On type2.com, I think (or perhaps linked from it), you can find scans of the original factory service manual for the largely similar BA4, including detailed troubleshooting instructions. The BA4 is electrically the same as your heater except for the lack of an additional blower fan, so all of the troubleshooting info should apply.
