Recently my brother relocated to Orange County CA and abandoned an 83 Ford F150 Pickup in my driveway. Not such a bad deal since he signed the title and said, "Use It", "Sell It" or whatever, I want half the money. So here're where I'm at: Replaced the oil pump and pan gasket. Installed new oil, filter after engine flush procedures. Replaced the distributor cap, rotor, wire set. Bead blasted the magnetic trigger in the distributor. Replaced the battery. Replaced the starter solenoid and fusible link. Replaced the spark coil. Replaced the fuel line. Rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the fuel filter and about twenty feet of rotten vacuum hoses. So to me this thing is beginning to have similarities to a Vanagon; a $1000.00 truck that I just put $600.00 worth of my labor in and roughly $330.00 worth of parts in it just to get it running and useful.
