Frank: What is wrong wiith this is that you cannot re- stake the ball end where it attaches to the rack. Mind you, I've done it this way, too. I put it back together with red locktite. Ever notice how all the vital parts of the steering have a second means of locking, like cotter keys, deformed locknuts, etc? The staking is the 2nd means on this junction. I think I have also stretched the new boots over a tie rod end removed from the steering arm (knuckle). I think that way has the advantage of not possibly changing the toe-in. Or did I dream that? It coulda been 15 years ago! Al Brase
